OrderUp Inc. has hired former Marriott International Inc. executive Susannah Bennett as its chief legal officer.
As vice president of legal and corporate secretary, Bennett will oversee mergers and acquisitions, corporate contracts, litigation, franchising and regulatory compliance for OrderUp. The Baltimore-based online food ordering and delivery startup is growing quickly and Bennett is one of a few recent additions to the company’s executive leadership team.
OrderUp in February hired as its chief operating officer a former Domino’s Pizza Inc. executive, Chris McGlothlin, who was among the visionaries who created the chain restaurant’s Pizza Tracker app. Another Domino’s veteran, Scott Sokoloff, joined OrderUp in March as the company’s chief data officer.
Bennett most recently worked as vice president and senior counsel of Marriott for eight years. She previously worked as an executive with Educate Inc. and Sylvan Learning Inc., both in Baltimore.
OrderUp allows users to place food delivery orders online. The company, led by CEO Chris Jeffery, is expanding to new markets across the country through a combination of new offices and franchise agreements. OrderUp in January moved into a new office in Canton's Can Company building to accommodate its growing staff. About 70 of the company's 130 workers are based in Baltimore.See Original Article
